The first full event of the Deerfoot Inn & Casino Summer Super Stack gets underway on Thursday with the opening day of Event #1: Deepstack. The multi-day action gets going right from that start, as Thursday’s game is Day 1a, with two more starting days scheduled for Friday and Saturday before the winner is decided on Sunday.

For $340, players will get 20k in chips to start things off, with $300 of their buy-in going to the prize pool. Blinds will increase every 30 minutes throughout the opening event.

During the Spring Super Stack earlier this year, the $340 Deepstack drew just under 300 players with a prize pool of more than $80k. That game only had two starting days, however, so it seems likely this time around will be bigger.

Action for Day 1a gets underway at 2 pm, with 16 levels of play scheduled for Day 1 action. Players will be able to late register or rebuy as late as the break following Level 11 which should be about 8:30 pm. The dinner break on Day 1a will be after Level 8, but it should be noted that as Days 1b and c start at noon, the dinner break for those days will come after Level 11, and entries will close around 6:30 for the final two starting days.

In total, Day 1 action will go at most about 9.5 hours including breaks, but each Day 1 could also end early if they play down to 10% of the field plus one before the end of Level 16. For Day 1a, that should mean action ends around 11:15 pm, while Day 1b/c will end around 9:15.
