The third and penultimate edition of the Pure Poker Tour is on the horizon now and will be the final chance for players to book their seat to the Tournament of Champions in November. Action on the series proper gets underway on Sep 22 with the $330 Seniors Event, but there’s plenty of satellite action leading up to opening day to help players get into the games for cheap.

Satellite action begins on Sep 18 with a $500 game that pays out tickets to every event except the Seniors. One entry out of nine will bag a ticket package from that first satellite, so it’s the perfect chance to play every open event in the series for a fraction of the buy-ins.

Sunday’s first satellite plays out at Casino Edmonton, but the following night there will be a $190 satellite to the Main Event (Event #7) at Casino Yellowhead while the same game runs on Tuesday Sep 20 as well at Casino Edmonton again. One in seven entries will get Main Event tickets from these two qualifiers.

On Wednesday Sep 21, the satellite trail heads back to Yellowhead for a qualifier to the multi-day events. For $280, one entry out every nine will get a ticket package to Events #2, #4, and #5.

There are plenty more qualifiers throughout the series as well — check out the schedule in the gallery below for full details on all the games. The open events get started on Friday Sep 22 with the first multi-day event, Event #2 NLH $660 with $100 Bounties, but the older set will get the first chance at a PPT trophy on Sep 21, and yours truly will be in action on the felt for the Seniors game rather than in my usual position behind the notepad.

I’ll be picking up the regular coverage starting with Event #2 on Friday, but you can still expect some updates and pics while I play the Seniors too. And don’t worry — even when I win, I’ll be resuming my regular duties behind the keyboard for the rest of the series.

If you are looking to come to Edmonton from out of town, Pure Casino has arranged a discount rate with the nearby Chateau Nova. Use this link and use the code POKER for the tournament dates for discounts on standard rooms ($99 + tax) and junior king suites ($124 + tax).
